Wrestlers Win BIIFs

The Wrestlers came off from a huge winning season, both the girls and boys team won BIFFS, boys came in 9th place, and girls came in 19th place for states out of 59 schools. This is the first time out of 10 years that the boys have placed top 10 in states. Also, this is the girls first time in wrestling history that they’ve won BIFFs.
Girl wrestler, Shakira Ortiz-Strauss, is 17 and one of Konawaena’s 2024 graduates. She placed 1st at states in her division. Although Shakira pushed very hard this season, she also pushed through physical challenges.
Volleyball Girls Shoot for State Title

More than half-way through the volleyball season, the Konawaena varsity girls team hopes to bring the glory of a state title back to Konawaena. It’s been a decade since the Wildcats won the state championship.
Last year, they won the Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF’s) Championship. Then they lost in the second-round playoff game at Saint Louis gym on Oahu to Hawaii Baptist.
NFL: season reflection

The NFL season has come to an end. Many teams were expected to make the NFL playoffs and even reach the Super Bowl. Wildcat Girls Basketball Season: A new beginning

The Konawaena Wildcat girl's basketball season is underway in the next couple of weeks. Last year, they won the Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) Championship and lost in the state championship game to the Iolani Raiders on Oahu at the Stan Sheriff Center. This year the basketball team looks to hold the BIIF title and regain the State Title from the defending champions in Iolani.
Wildcat's take Second in the State Championship Game

Konawaena High School, the 2022 Division I football state champs, finished in 2nd this year behind their Waipahu rivals, who won the title game with a score of 53-28 on Nov. 28 at Mililani High School on Oahu.
Quarter back of the team Keoki Alani says how he felt his season was. "Overall, I think it was a pretty good season with the young players that we had and like the obstacles we had to overcome from this really young team. But even though it wasn't the finish that we wanted to have, it was still a fun season, and it was a great senior year!"
