If you are a parent of a child who attends a Nānākuli/Waianae school and you suspect that your child may have a disability, please contact your child's home school and ask to speak with the Administrator and/or Student Services Coordinator.

Special Education is specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, and it is provided at no cost to the student and the student's family. To find out if Special Education is right for you, find everything you need here.
If your child is having trouble learning, don't worry. We have trained professionals who can help. Your school's administrator or Student Services Coordinator is a great place to start, but another resource is Operation Search.

Special education is specially designed instruction, related services and other supplementary aids to meet the unique needs of a student with a disability at no cost to families. Special Parent Information Network: Hawaii
Special Parent Information Network (SPIN) is a network of resources, support, and information for families with children who have special needs. It also has information for the "Footsteps to Transition" event.
The Hawaii Autism Foundation (HAF) educates and helps Hawaii families find and fund treatments for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and develop resources that will assure our children have the tools and transitional support they need to reach their full potential and thrive as adults.

Leeward Community Children's Council
The Community Children’s Council advocates for children and families including those with disabilities and mental health needs through collaborative partnerships.
