ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Students need to attend the Summer Learning Hub program daily (Mon-Thu) and be in class on time at 8:00 am so that the optimum benefits of education can be achieved.
ABSENCES:
As part of our effort to ensure the safety of our students, we have instituted the following procedures on reporting absences:
Call (305-1710) or e-mail (kyle.shimabukuro@k12.hi.us) the Summer Learning Hub Coordinator - Kyle Shimabukuro to report your child’s absence.
You will receive an automated phone call from our School Messenger System verifying your child’s absence.
If you receive a call that your child is absent, but should be in school, please call 305-1710 for immediate assistance.
TARDIES:
A student who is not in his/her classroom by 8:00 am is considered tardy. He/she should report to the office for a tardy slip.
EARLY RELEASE:
If it is necessary for a student to be released from the Summer Learning Hub during the school day, the student must bring a note from the parent or legal guardian to school. The note should clearly state the child’s name, room number, reason for request, time the child will be released, and be signed by the parent or legal guardian.
Parents should report to the office to sign out their child before leaving the school campus. Parents are asked NOT to go directly to the classroom for pick up. If the student returns to school before the end of the school day, he/she must report to the office for a re-admit pass.
To ensure the safety of our students, children will NOT be allowed to leave campus without parent authorization, nor will they be permitted to leave campus unescorted.
