Mohala Mentors
Juniors & Seniors: Looking for an opportunity to give back to your community? Feeling a little disconnected, burnt out, and without motivation? Think about reigniting purpose in your life by becoming a mentor to a middle school student.
Mentor Requirements
Mentors must be a junior or senior in high school.
Mentors will meet with a student from Ke'elikolani Middle School (formerly Central Middle School) once a week at an off-campus location.
Students will be trained prior to mentorship.
All mentorship sessions will be supervised by an adult from the Common Grace Program. See the bottom of this page for information about Common Grace.

Student with great character who is a good role model
Committed and accountable
Able to show up to mentoring sessions each week
Able to turn in necessary forms on time
Not over-involved in programs
*Even highly qualified mentors are not the right mentors if they continually disappoint their kid by not showing up to mentorship sessions.
Application Process
Complete the application forms below.
Have a counselor or teacher complete the Confidential Teacher/Counselor Recommendation below.
Submit your completed application and recommendation form to Sofia Matias (Mohala Mentors Program Coordinator) via email at sofia@commongrace.org.

Common Grace is the name of the program leading this mentorship.
Here's some information about Common Grace.
MISSION: Common Grace's mission is to mentor students in Hawai`i's public schools by connecting them with dedicated teenagers and adults.
Common Grace provides early intervention to children, especially those living in unstable or disadvantaged households and in-need of extra social-emotional support through mentorship.
