Testing

One part of the college admissions process is standardized test scores. While other parts of the application are important, such as transcripts, essays, and recommendation letters, college admission test scores carry some weight. As you consider going to college, it is important to be aware of the different types of college entrance exams you may encounter and when you should take them. Most colleges accept and look at scores from College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) tests like the ACT and SAT, but make sure you check with the colleges to which you are applying.

SENDING YOUR SCORES TO COLLEGES

Check with the colleges to which you are applying before you decide to send your ACT or SAT Scores.

If the college will only review your scores once and not allow you to send additional scores later, then you may want to wait to send scores to that college until after you see what you scored. Just remember that there will be a fee to send the scores.

If a college "super scores," then that means you want to send all your scores to them because they will look at all score reports and take your highest from each. "Super scoring" colleges are safe to select to send your score reports when your register for the test before you see your scores.

ACT

When you take the ACT at Leilehua High School on a school day or when you register online to take the ACT on a Saturday, then you can select 4 colleges to send your scores to for free.

If you register online for a Saturday test, then you can add or change colleges up to 4 days after you take the test. You may not change your selection after it's made on the school day testing.

If you wait to send your scores more than 4 days after you test , then there will be a fee. There is no score report fee waiver for ACT score reports.

SAT

When you register online to take the SAT, then you can select 2 colleges to send your scores to for free.

You can add or change colleges up to 9 days after you take the test.
