Gain real-world experience and earn a Directed Studies credit by participating in our JCHS Internship Program from January to May.

To be considered for any of the internship positions, applicants must submit the following:
Completed Application including a current resume.
Teacher Recommendation Form (CTE teacher preferred)
Non Classroom Recommendation from an adult who has worked with the applicant for at least a year (teacher, coach, counselor, pastor, employer, etc). The recommender must include why the applicant would be a good candidate for the internship position.
Additional application requirements may be required by internship sites.
During the internship, students will need to:
Complete a total of 120 internship hours over 12 weeks, roughly 8-10 hours per week. Hours are a combination of internship site hours, JCHS teacher mentor meeting time, PBL, and Presentation development time.
Meet with a JCHS teacher mentor weekly (virtually or in person) during non-class hours to work on internship portfolio requirements and for mentorship.
Complete an internship portfolio via Google Classroom. Portfolio includes the following:
Problem or Project Based Learning Project
Presentation
Weekly reflections
Resume, Cover letter, and Thank You letter
Have transportation to and from internship site for all onsite internships
