General Orders
To take charge of this post and all government property in view.
To walk my post in a military manner, keeping always on the alert, and observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing.
To report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce.
To repeat all calls from posts more distant from the guard house than my own.
To quit my post only when properly relieved.
To receive, obey and pass on to the sentry who relieves me, all orders from the Commanding Officer, Command Duty Officer, Officer of the Deck, and Officers and Petty Officers of the Watch only.
To talk to no one except in the line of duty.
To give the alarm in case of fire or disorder. 9. To call the Officer of the Deck in any case not covered by instructions.
To salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased.
To be especially watchful at night, and, during the time for challenging, to challenge all persons on or near my post and to allow no one to pass without proper authority.

J-Bar: 1 ⅞ inch from the point of the collar, bisecting the collar
Rank: 1 ⅞ inch from the point of the collar, other measurements depend
Fouled Anchor (Garrison Cap): 2 inches from the front seam, 1 ½ inches from the bottom of the cap
Medals: ¼ inch below the bottom row of the ribbons
Honor Roll: ¼ inch above the J-Bar
Team Captain Ribbon: ¼ inch above the top of the name tag
Service star: ¼ inch above the highest row of ribbons

Male -
Ribbons: ¼ inch above the left breast pocket
Name Tag: ¼ inch above the right breast pocket
Female -
Ribbons: 6 ¼ inches from the left shoulder seam
Name Tag: 6 ¼ inch from the right shoulder seam
Aiguillettes (Cords)
Only the Leadership Academy aiguillette will be worn on the right shoulder.
The entire aiguillette hangs on the shoulder parallel to the seam of the coat or shirt.
No more than one aiguillette may be worn on each shoulder.
Grooming Standards
Hair - Only natural colors or as determined by the SNSI/NSI
Males: Bulk is 2 inches, a single strand of hair measured cannot exceed past 4 inches in length.
Males: Sideburns must not extend beyond the midpoint of the ear, side of hair should be 3/4 of an inch
Female: Bulk is 3 inches, ponytail can’t extend more than 3 inches beyond the collar, hair can be worn down as long as it does not touch the collar
Hands/Nails
Males: Not extending beyond the fingertip, can’t have polish
Female: Can’t extend ¼ inch beyond the fingertip
Can have polish of neutral tones or red.
Mustache: Males
No portion shall extend below the upper lip line.
Shall not be below the horizontal line extending across the corners of the mouth.
Shall not be more than 1⁄4 inch beyond a vertical line drawn upward from the corners of the mouth.
No other facial hair is permitted
