I conducted a survey to assess the local/western perspective surrounding menstruation. This survey was aimed to analyze comfort level of discussing menstruation with various people like mothers, fathers, and siblings as well as obtaining the perspective of whether or not there is a stigma around menstruation here in the United States.
To make sure the survey was objective and inclusive, I consulted the health teachers at AHS, Mr. Conrad, and a member of the GSA at AHS.
I circulated my survey two ways. For one, I posted on social media, including Instagram and Facebook, prompting people to take the survey. I also spoke to multiple freshman and junior health classes at AHS, explaining my project and asking them to take the survey. I ended up with 520 responses, with 442 respondents being female and 75 being male.
