Christmas: the most wonderful time of the year. This favored holiday is filled with presents, decorations, sweets, music, and even more sweets. Baking during the holidays is a tradition that many families still keep. However, making the same sugar cookies year after year can get quite old. Here’s a sweet recipe that will surely shake up the dessert table this holiday season.
Preheat oven to 350℉. Spray a donut pan with some nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, both granulated and brown sugar, cinnamon, and ginger. Beat in the butter, egg, milk, and molasses until all ingredients are blended evenly. Spoon the batter into a ziplock bag and cut off one of the bottom corners. Pipe batter into each donut mold, up to level with the pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Then set aside to cool. Once the donuts are cooled, whisk together milk and powdered sugar in a wide bowl. Take a cooled donut and dip one side into the prepared frosting, then lift up and place on a cooling rack. Lastly, add the sprinkles.
