By: Summer Reagan
Grinch Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 box Vanilla Cake Mix
- 1 stick Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1 Tablespoon Canola Oil
- 2 Eggs, room temperature
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 cup Corn Starch
- Green Gel Food Coloring
- Parchment Paper
- Candy Hearts
Glue for hearts:
- Confectioners Sugar
- Milk
- Piping Bag or Sandwich-Size Baggie
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Cover baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add dry cake mix, butter, eggs and oil to a medium-sized bowl. Stir until ingredients are combined.
- Add green food coloring. Refrigerate dough for 15 minutes for easier handling.
- In a separate bowl, combine the powdered sugar and cornstarch.
- Roll dough into 1 inch balls, then coat with the powdered sugar mixture. Place cookie balls on the parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until cookies are slightly brown on bottom.
- Once done, remove the baking sheet from the oven and leave the cookies on the sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
(Hearts):
- In a small bowl, blend the “glue” ingredients.
- Add them to a sandwich baggie. Cut a small corner of the bag, then proceed to pipe a tiny amount of glue onto the tops of each cookie. Add hearts and set for a couple of minutes until dry.
Enjoy!
