California School Shooting

By: Madeline Navea

A 16-year-old junior at Saugus High School killed himself after killing two other students and causing three other casualties. The report was made to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on a Friday, the day before this event tragically happened. His reasoning is still unknown because, by all accounts, he seemed like a normal high school teenager. The student was involved in sports, other school activities, and was reported as being very social. Detectives are still working on this case by examining his past but all they were able to find thus far was that his name was Nathaniel Berhow. They were also not able to find a connection between the students he shot and himself. Thankfully the active shooter drills came in handy as many of the students were prepared when it happened and found safety.
