Interview with Carolina Howard on returning to in person learning

Larkin: What do you miss about virtual school?

Carolina: Being able to have a snack whenever I want one

L: What do you like about in person?

C: That I like to see people not on a screen

L: What is your favorite thing about 5th grade?

C: Since I’m at a new school I get to meet new people but also see my older friends

L: What is something you wish you could still do now that you are in-person?

C: Being able to have a snack whenever I’m hungry

L: Were there any features of calling someone that you miss ex. virtual background, chat, raising hand without really raising hand?

C: Not really

L: Is it annoying having to wear a mask all day?

C: After the first 15 minutes it’s not that bad

L: What is your favorite part of school day?

C: Lunch because I can hang around and talk to my friends

L: Is there anything you love about in person that you didn’t have in virtual?

C: Just being able to talk to friends during work time (the teacher allows it)

L: What is your favorite thing to do at recess?

C: Recently, play basketball
