Raya and the Last Dragon-reviewed by Larkin Boyd

Raya and the Last dragon is an amazing story about trust. In Kumandra Raya is traveling with the last dragon sisu to find all of the dragon gem pieces. Split in to parts each nation; Fang, Heart, Spine, Talon and Tail each have one, and there are druin everywhere. The druin can only be repelled by water and dragon gems. They are everywhere and turn people to stone. Uniting the all five dragon gems should bring peace back to the world. This is an amazing movie that shows trust.

Earwig and the Witch-reviewed by Annalise D'Angelo

The movie and book Earwig and the Witch is a magical story filled to the brim with wonder and music. The movie is a personal favorite. The catchy music in the movie is still stuck in my head!

The movie/book is about a girl that was orphaned at a young age, a few years later she got a foster mom, but the mom makes her work like a slave. Lots of strange things happen in the house as the foster mom made Earwig work on all her magical recipes. There is another character in the story named the Mandrake. He starts out scary but changes through the story. I’m not telling you anything else about the movie, the rest of the story is up to you to watch/read.

This story is a sweet and sad, I love it so much! It is 100% amazing! You can find the movie on HBO max and the book in the library.

Happy watching/reading!

Stand Up, Yumi Chung!-reviewed by Langley Pate

Stand Up, Yumi Chung! Is a great, heartfelt book about, Yumi Chung, an aspiring stand-up comedian who has a passion for making people laugh but, her Korean parents aren’t so supportive of her passion. They believe Yumi should be a doctor or lawyer like her big sister. But one day as Yumi is leaving her summer school (Hagwon) she sees the local comedy club is hosting a comedy camp for young comedians run by her favorite comedian Jasmine Jasper. So somehow, she gets trapped pretending to be someone she’s not. With being undercover at comedy camp, helping save her parents' Korean Barbecue, and trying to get a scholarship to a fancy private school Yumi doesn’t know how to feel. This book was amazing, with relatable characters, and many funny moments. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books full of emotions. If you want a good chuckle, make sure to read Stand Up, Yumi Chung!

The Mysterious Benedict Society-reviewed by Lucille Block

The Mysterious Benedict Society is about four kids. All of them see an add in the newspaper that invites them to a building where they are to take a series of tests. The four of them are the only kids that passed all these difficult tests. There is Reynie who is smart and good at decoding puzzles, Kate who is super athletic and carries a bucket with all the tools and trinkets she needs, Sticky who remembers everything word for word, and Constance who always acts like a two year-old and is very argumentative (the kids are unsure why she’s is with them). The four of them have been chosen as the super team to help end the so called Emergency their town is facing. Follow the daring five through their journey to make things right again. When it comes down to the final test will they make it?

The Tom and Jerry Movie-reviewed by Nathan Gilmore

The Tom and Jerry Movie was a very good and very funny movie. The only down side was you have to buy HBO-MAX or go to the theater which was dangerous because of Covid-19. The movie is about Tom and Jerry visiting New York and going into a hotel and making a huge mess and ruining a lot of stuff. That is all I can say because I don't want to spoil anything. Overall it was very good.
