Welcome!
In our school library, we
honor diversity and unique perspectives
value students' opinions and choices in what they read
believe that children need to read books that reflect their own and different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences
recognize that all reading is "real" reading
think that if a child thinks he does not like to read, he just hasn't found the right book yet (and are committed to trying to find the book that makes him change his mind!)
agree with Malala Yousafzai that “One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world," and are proud to be part of your child's educational journey
About the Librarian
Mrs. Landry has been a teacher since 2009 and has always loved reading. She holds multiple education certifications and has her Master's degree in Library Science. Her favorite parts of the school year are Book Day (the days she gives books to kids to keep in their home library- she's given out almost 30,000 books over the past 5 years!) and Book Character Dress-Up Day. Mrs. Landry is proud to be known as the Book Fairy.
