Scope of SEDI-J FG
The purpose of the Earth's interior science is to promote interdisciplinary research into the physical and chemical properties of the Earth's interior from the mantle to the core, as well as the formation and evolution of the Earth, through interdisciplinary research involving multiple disciplines in the Earth sciences. Therefore, in addition to research into the deep Earth, interdisciplinary research into the dynamics of slab subduction and the formation and evolution of the Earth is also included. In addition, JpGU will be able to support collaboration and cooperation with related interdisciplinary fields such as the activities of the Study of Earth Deep Interior (SEDI) Commission of the International Unison of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG), SEDI of the American Geophysical Unison (AGU), each Focus Group of Mineral and Rock Physics (MRP), and the Commission on Physics of Minerals (CPM) of the International Mineralogical Association (IMA).
