Digital Delivery Teams
Good digital delivery teams are motivated - they have purpose, are masters of their role, and are empowered to get the job done.
Our Digital Delivery Teams course provides a practical guide to how to work together effectively to deliver value to users by working in an agile way.
Delegates will learn what it means to be agile and how to put into practice some of the most useful methods, tools and techniques that will help them to work in an agile way.
The course is designed to promote and encourage team working, and highlights the significant improvements that can be gained when the team focus not only on the delivery of the product or service but also on how they work together as a team.
Who's it for?
Our Digital Delivery Teams course is ideal for individuals who work as part of a digital delivery team and is especially suited to full digital delivery teams that are working on delivering digital services.
It's suitable for new or existing teams - in fact we find that teams that attend this course deliver value very quickly and efficiently because the whole team shares the same learning experience, so they have a common understanding of their respective roles and how they all need to work together as a team.
Why should I attend?
A big part of being agile is understanding what value means and a focus on delivering as much value as possible. After years of working with and as part of agile teams and delivering agile training to thousands of delegates, we've put together this course that we believe provides the most important things that agile teams need to know about and the tools and techniques that are most useful.
It will help individuals understand their role within a digital delivery team. It will help digital delivery teams gain a real insight into how they need to work together as a team to deliver real value to users of their service, while working effciently, continuously improving their ways of working and increasing value to users.
What topics does the course cover?
The course starts with an activity to understand the problems that typically face any type of team and highlights the importance of reflecting to improve.
We take a look at what agile means, examining the Manifesto for Agile Software Development and forming a robust understanding of the agile values and principles, and their impact and affect on working culture.
Scrum provides a framework for software development and digital delivery that aligns with agile values. We provide an overview of scrum, examine the nature of iteration, incremental development and a typical agile lifecycle.
Digital delivery teams need to ensure that they are delivering value to users, so we provide an introduction to User Centred Design to help understand users needs to ensure that the whole team is aligned.
We take a look at the work of the team and how the team manage their work. This covers backlogs, backlog refinement, work items including user stories, planning and forecasting.
As a group of people become a team they start to develop their own team working sub-culture. So we take a look at agile culture and the behaviours that help create, influence and reinforce it. We look at what motivates us to make sure that we're developing the right product or service and developing it in the right way.
Course delivery details
3 days, remote or in-person
£600 - £765 (excluding VAT) per delegate
We offer our standard public Digital Delivery Teams course, as a three-day in-person or fully remote (online) course.
Our face-to-face course is normally run in Sheffield or London, but we do sometimes run our course in other locations if it suits all of the course delegates - just let us know your preference.
Running the course face-to-face allows us to demonstrate many of the topics we cover using a variety of activities, workshops and games.
Our remote (online) course covers the same topics as our face-to-face course. We have adapted some of the activities so that we can deliver them remotely, but they are not identical.
Our online course has shorter lessons and activities. Our adapted online face-to-face activities are slightly more directed than when we run them face-to-face. We've also found that online learning tends to feel much more intensive so we build in more, but shorter breakout slots.
The price of our online Digital Delivery Teams course is £600 (excluding VAT) per delegate.
The price of our face-to-face Digital Delivery Basics course is £765 (excluding VAT) per delegate. The price of our face-to-face courses include refreshments during the day and a buffet grazing lunch.
We can also run this course privately for your organisation. It requires a minimum of 6 delegates, with a maximum of 12.
The price to run the course privately is £3150 (excluding VAT).
