Every quarter each student gets to do a project. It is very open so there is a lot of freedom to do something that is interesting to you! It should take some work and planning as well as help you become a better musician. There will be one assignment about halfway through the quarter to make sure you have chosen something and have started planning, then you will turn in a reflection about it and/or any finished project through Canvas.
There are so many options and it can be anything that is approved by Ms. Stutz. Here is a list of ideas to get you going:

Tutor a beginner

Go to concert or watch a virtual concert (should still be about an hour)
Be in a performing ensemble outside of class
Audition for a solo with a separate part learned outside of class
Go to a marching band competition (Wasatch Front Invitational September 26 at Herriman HS)
Participate in District Honors Festival
Research our pieces and write program notes
Make up a story/lyrics/dance to one of our pieces
Compose a piece

Compare multiple performances of same piece
Be part of marching band or colorguard
Do a report on a composer
