Please Note...
We strongly recommend that you watch the Overview Video on the USHE application site! You must complete the enrollment application in a single session (no save and return option) so it is important to prepare everything you will need in advance -- including having a parent or guardian available to complete their portion of the application.
If you are new to Concurrent Enrollment (CE), you must apply and be admitted to the college or university BEFORE CLASSES BEGIN. Find a brief summary of deadlines at this link: 2025-26 Concurrent Enrollment Deadlines. Go to the college or university's Concurrent Enrollment website for more detailed information about admission and registration deadlines. Links to these websites are located below in the "Register for Classes" section and on the CHHS Concurrent Enrollment home page.
If you have previously taken CE classes through our partner colleges/universities you do not need to re-apply to that college/university each year. However, if you wish to take CE classes at a different college/university, you will need to apply to the new school using the application linked above.
Setup University Concurrent Enrollment student account(s) with each college you attend.
You will receive an email with instructions and links on how to set up your account and create a password. This email will be sent to the student’s personal email address.
THIS NEXT BIT IS VERY IMPORTANT!! Keep your student ID numbers and passwords in a secure place that is easily available if you need them. Secure but accessible!.
You will register for Concurrent Enrollment classes at the college or university. Here are step by step directions to register for your class(es) at SLCC. You will need a course number (called "CRN") in order to register. Your CHHS teacher will give you this number.

Placement testing determines whether or not you are adequately prepared to take certain college level courses and also confirms you have completed prerequisites for your concurrent enrollment classes. Once you have been admitted to SLCC and received your S Number (SLCC's student number), you are eligible to take the SLCC Placement Process test.

Students hoping to skip ENGL 1010 and go right into ENGL 2010 need to meet one of the following requirements:
Advanced Placement (AP): High enough scores on the AP English Language or Literature exams.
CLEP Exams: Passing the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) for English Composition.
Transfer Credit: Completing a 1010-equivalent course at another accredited institution.
Total Credit Requirement: SLCC requires two writing courses (6 credits total) to satisfy the "Written Communication" (WC) requirement. If you skip ENGL 1010 by entering directly into ENGL 2010 (e.g., through high test scores), you must still take a second approved writing course to graduate with an Associates or Certificate of Completion.
Options for this second course include:
ENGL 2100 (Technical Writing).
ENGL 2250 (Introduction to Creative Writing).
HON 2211 (Honors Intermediate Writing).
BUS 2200 (Business Communications).

The high school CE class is full
You do not have open periods in your current CHHS schedule and need or want to take additional CE classes
Talk with your counselor before taking on-campus courses. For more information on CE classes on-campus, visit the SLCC CE On-Campus website: SLCC On-Campus CE Classes.

If you are a high school student planning to graduate from SLCC with an Associates degree or finishing a Certificate of Completion, you need to submit a Concurrent/Early Enrollment Application for Graduation (high school students only). If you are a current high school student, please do not apply for graduation through your MySLCC account.
How to apply for graduation:
Once you have ordered any AP (College Board) and College transcripts from any other colleges/universities to be sent to SLCC, you can then apply for your Certificate of Completion or Associates Degree. This will let both SLCC and Copper Hills know you have completed your certificate or degree and collect your information for both the SLCC commencement ceremony and CHHS graduation.
