A self-assessment is a valuable tool used to gather information about yourself in order to make an informed career decision. You can start by taking the career assessments listed below to learn more about your interests, abilities and personality.

CFNC offers many different resources including online career assessments. Students can create their own account. Once you have an account sign in and hover over "Plan" (orange bar near the top of the page) and choose "For a Career." On the page that opens, choose "Learn About Yourself." A page with several assessments will open. It is recommended that you start with the "Interest Profiler."

Career Research:
Research careers on this site by opening the link for “Plan” (in orange near the top) and choosing “Plan for a Career," then choose “Explore Careers.” Use the search box to find a career or search via Career Clusters. This site also allows you to create your own login. Once created, you can complete career assessments which will assist you in determining which careers are best suited to your interests, personality, and talents.
Search for information about careers using the “Occupation Search” box, or find occupations using the “Find Occupations” drop down menu which includes choices for occupations with a bright outlook, related to the green economy, related to STEM, as well as other options.
Search for careers many different ways. The simplest is to use the box labeled “Search Handbook” near the top right hand corner by typing in the name of the career you wish to research. You can also find careers using the links in the white box in the center of the page entitled “Select Occupations By” which includes options such as highest growth rate, median pay, highest paying, etc.
