About me: Hello! I'm Hilary Holtzhauser. I’ve worked in education for 10 years and really enjoy being a school counselor. Before I was a school counselor, I taught Spanish and special education at both Clayton HS and Cleveland HS. I love being able to help students and families remove barriers to education. I enjoy spending time at the beach and the mountains, playing music, singing, shopping, eating chocolate and having coffee dates with friends. I have been married for 10 years and have two amazing children, Charlotte (4) and Asher (2). I am very excited for the upcoming school year and feel very lucky to be part of an amazing Student Services team!

About me: Hello! I’m Betsy Jenks and this is my third year at Clayton High School. I’ve been in Johnston County Public Schools for 12 years as a school counselor and I LOVE my job! The teenage years are a magical time when the possibilities for your life are endless! I love being able to meet with students and parents and share my knowledge, advice, help them set and achieve goals, encourage them to get back up when they’ve fallen down, and be a listening ear. I’m married to Coach Jenks, the football coach here at CHS, and love that helping kids is a family affair! You’ll find my whole family, including daughters Ava (6) and Claire (3), on the field each and every Friday night - rain, shine, wind, snow - we are there to support our Comets! I love being outside and am a total plant/flower/garden lover! I tend to look on the bright side of things, not take life too seriously, and tell terrible jokes - you’ve been warned!

About me: Hi! I’m Ashlie Pope, your school social worker. This is my 3rd year in Johnston County Schools. Previously I worked with a mental health agency in Raleigh providing intensive in home therapy. I am a wife of 5 years to my wonderful husband and I am a proud mother of a 3 year old little boy. I enjoy the beach, being with family and friends, taking pictures, being outside and reading. I am also slightly addicted to Netflix and the color pink! I enjoy humor, I believe it is good for the soul. I LOVE being an advocate for students and working with a great team at CHS to ensure each student is heard and safe.
My Role: As a School Social Worker I serve as a vital link between the home, the school, and the community. My mission as a School Social Worker is to alleviate barriers for students so they can be successful in school. I work with students and families for many different reasons. Several of these include: attendance concerns, family dysfunction, substance abuse, child abuse/neglect, life-threatening behaviors, economic deprivation, inadequate health care and lack of understanding of school policies and procedures. As a school social worker, I am also able to link community resources to students and families , and make arrangement with families and/or home visits to ensure each student and family have what is needed to be successful in school.

About me: Welcome back students! I’m so excited to work with you and your families this school year. I’ve worked in education a little over 10 years, and I absolutely love being a school counselor. I am able to engage with students on a more personal level while assisting them with their immediate and future needs. Before starting at CHS in 2012, I worked in college admission at UNC Pembroke, and my first job as a school counselor was at Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville. I consider Clayton my home, even though I am not from here. There is no where else I would rather be! I’m married to my college sweetheart and we have two beautiful children. Grace is 4 and Aaron is 7 months. I’m looking forward to another awesome year at CHS. Go Comets!

About me: Hi Everyone! This is my second year here at CHS and I am so excited to be back. I am still a “newbie” in that not only is this my second year at Clayton, but it is also only my second year working as a school counselor. I am so fortunate to have ended up here at CHS with the best team and students! I am engaged to be married in 2019 and the real love of my life is my 60 pound furbaby. I am an ECU Pirate to the core...Go Pirates! I love football (you will likely spot me wearing NY Giants gear at some point), traveling, and spending time with my family and friends. I can’t wait to have another great school year with our awesome students!
