I am a Special Education teacher in a Severe/Profound classroom using the NC Extended Content Standards. I received my B.A. in Elementary Education from UNCW. I received my M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University-Portland. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in the EDCI program at Gardner-Webb University. I am licensed in K-6 Elementary Education, K-12 ESL, K-12 EC General Curriculum, and K-12 EC Adapted Curriculum.
Pamela Edwards
I am currently a Mathematics Instructor/ Academic Specialist at Pitt Community College. I received my BS in Mathematics and Mathematics Education from East Carolina University. I received my MS in Mathematics Education from Elizabeth City State University. I am currently a doctoral candidate in the EDCI program at Gardner-Webb University.
Cynthia Hutchings
Currently, I am serving at the International Baccalaureate Diploma Coordinator at Smithfield- Selma High School. I received a B.S in Elementary Education with minors in Spanish and Interdisciplinary Subjects from Campbell University. I received my M. Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from North Carolina State University. I am currently working on my D. Ed in Curriculum and Instruction at Gardner- Webb University. Currently I am licensed in Elementary Education, Middle and High School English, and as a Curriculum Specialist.
Mabel Eliana Lamprea
I am a mother of two, an immigrant from Colombia, and an English Language Development -ELD/ESL- and Spanish Heritage teacher at Southern Wayne High School in Dudley, NC. I have a Bachelor's degree in Language Teaching and a Specialization in ESL from Universidad Industrial de Santander in Bucaramanga, Colombia, and a M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. I am currently a doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at Gardner-Webb University.
Description of PLM: The purpose of this PLM is to provide access to research and tools which can be used to differentiate lessons in a classroom for all types of learners. First, the module helps educators understand TPACK as well as why using technology with students is effective. Next, the module delineates the research and tools into 4 categories of learning, which allows educators to learn/ teach using tools specific for different learners. The module concludes by encouraging educators to practice using the tools with a group of learners and a content specific standard.
