Way to go seniors and early graduates who completed their Workkeys Test on October 28th. Students that scored a Silver, Gold, or Platinum will receive a cord to wear during the Graduation ceremony.
We will be testing another group of students in February so stay tuned.
The Workkeys test is given to all seniors who are CTE Concentrators (have taken 2 courses in a like pathway with 1 being an upper level). This test is a national recognized test that measures their skills in 3 areas, Workplace Documents, Graphic Literacy, and Mathmatics. Students will earn a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Certificate based on their test score.
Employers use the certificate to learn more about the potential employee's skills and knowledge, thus making it an advantage to have taken it.
We are excited to announce that Johnston Community College has agreed to award articulated credit for students who earn a Gold or Platinum ACT National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). Students earn this credential by showing mastery on three of ACT's WorkKeys assessments: Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents.
CTE Concentrators who earn a Gold or Platinum NCRC are eligible for both of the following courses:
ENG-110 Workplace Writing Essentials (3 Credits)
MAT-110 Mathematical Measurement and Literacy (3 Credits)
Students need to save their certificate and score report as they will need to provide that to JCC's student services office to receive the articulated credit.
