The Curriculum and Instruction Department manages the program of study for each curriculum area. Program areas include: Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, CTE, GT, Library Media, Physical Education, English Language Learners and Assessment. Creating models and systems to support the delivery of instruction, assessment processes, program evaluation, and program innovations all fall within the supervision of the division.
A major focus of the Curriculum Department is building the capacity of teachers and administrators. Through our department -professional development activities are designed, resources are procured, and curriculum implementation and effectiveness is evaluated to provide high quality instruction in every classroom, every day.
The department supports the work of each classroom teacher so that each student receives a challenging and rigorous learning experience based on the learning standards as defined by the Arkansas Department of Education. Additionally, the department oversees the implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of the district's Guidance Counseling, English Language Learner, Gifted & Talented, and AVID programs.
