Nature of submissions: On Call/Rolling basis
Theme: All law oriented themes with special focus on contemporary socio-legal issues
Word Limit (exclusive of endnotes)
Blog: 1000-1200 words
Short Article: 1200-3000 words
Long Article: 3000-7000 words
Case Analysis: 1000-1500 words
Book Review: 1000-1500 words
Film Review: 800-1000 words
Submissions exceeding the above-mentioned word limit shall be subject to rejection.
A. GENERAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
JSLR shall invite original and unpublished manuscripts from all the students of Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia.
The submissions must not be pending before any other forum for publication.
All entries should be submitted only in .doc/.docx format. Submissions in any other format are not acceptable.
The manuscript must be submitted via "Google Form" which will be made available with each call for papers' notification. The notification description for the specific call for papers or issue will include this form. Interested authors must submit their manuscripts via Google Form and must check the notification for details such as the submission deadline. The Google form will be closed for submissions once the deadline has expired.
B. REVIEW & PUBLICATION PROCESS
The first round of editing shall be undertaken by the Student Editorial Team. Thereafter, before publication, a final review will be undertaken by the Editors-in-Chief.
On submission, within a reasonable time period (at most 2 weeks), the author would get a response on their registered email id with respect to their selection or otherwise.
Only the selected manuscripts shall be published on the JSLR website within 4 weeks of submission. The time period may vary.
The sole discretion in the editorial and review process shall lie with the Conveners & Co-Conveners of The Legal Research Committee.
A certificate of publication shall be provided to the authors after successful publication of their submissions in JSLR.

12 Font Size (Body) and 14 Font Size (Headings & Sub-headings)

A. SHORT ARTICLES & CASE ANALYSIS
All sources are to be cited as endnotes or hyphenated links. Either of the aforesaid citation modes can be employed.
The endnotes must in be in TNR, 12 Font size, and 1.5 line spacing.
Citation style : Bluebook 21st Edn. or ILI rules for footnoting.
Contents for case analysis: (Introduction, Facts, Legal Provision, Appraisal of Facts and Issues, Important Judgments, Observations & Ratio, Critical Analysis, Conclusion)
B. LONG ARTICLES
Co-authorship of a maximum of 2 persons is permitted only in long articles.
Long articles must have an abstract of not more than 150 words.
All sources are to be cited as endnotes.
The endnotes must in be in TNR, 12 Font size, and 1.5 line spacing. )
Citation style : Harvard Bluebook Latest Edition (presently, 21st Edn.) or ILI rules for footnoting.
C. BLOGS & BOOK/FILM REVIEW
All sources are to be cited as hyphenated links within the text.
Author must ensure that the inserted links are working.
Plagiarism up to 10-15 % only is acceptable.
All submissions shall be duly checked for plagiarism.
Students shall be required to run a basic grammar and plagiarism check before turning in their scripts.
Manuscripts exceeeding the above-mentioned permissible plagiarism percentage shall be subject to rejection.
Only the qualifying submissions will be considered for publication.
JSLR retains all rights to all posts. The author retains all moral rights. Manuscripts that do not follow the above guidelines will be rejected.
