AIMS AND OBECTIVE
The Jamia Student Law Review ("JSLR") aims to foster among students the culture of research, analysis and deliberation on diverse socio-legal developments and law oriented themes, through their words. To keep students from succumbing to paid or false publication fora, which appear to be a quick and easy choice, the law review intends to endow students with an in-house publication platform which would boost their confidence and enhance their skill-set.
The Law Review is a ‘one-stop’ station covering a broad spectrum of legal themes. This will enable the students to refine their writing and research skills by having their articles published on our student-run law review. It will accept long and short articles, opinions, academic write-ups, public policy and case analysis. Additionally, it would also publish guest articles, best articles from various competitions conducted and allied activities.
The primary goal of undertaking this initiative is to improve the research & writing efficacy of students. The Legal Research Committee is confident that an in-house student-run platform would cater to the interest of all students by providing them a fair chance to embark on their writing journey as well as commemorate the same.
The Legal Research Committee, Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia (2022-23) is beyond delight to have made the Jamia Student Law Review, a student run law review, a reality. We appreciate your interest and wish you the best for your writing journey.
MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN
Prof. (Dr.) Kahkashan Y. Danyal Dean, Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia
It fills me with immense joy and pride to bring forth the Jamia Student Law Review ("JSLR"), an initiative of the Legal Research Committee, Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia. This is a student-run, peer reviewed online law review which will encourage the students to deliberate and voice their opinions on diverse legal matters. Quality research, analysis and articulation hold extreme significance in the life of a law student and an in-house publication platform, like JSLR, will surely enable them to ehance and refine their writing skills.
The primary objective of JSLR is to bring together experienced and novices to explore their potential in terms of skills and passion for strengthening the outlines of the discipline. I hope that by leveraging this platform, all students will strive for excellence in their writing endeavours and make us all proud.
First and foremost, I want to thank Dr. Faizanur Rahman (Assistant Prof. cum Subject Advisor, Faculty of Law, JMI) for his invaluable efforts in inspiring students to come up with such brilliant ideas and for his constant encouragement in assisting students in accomplishing them. I would like to congratulate the students of our faculty, Ms. Shaivya Singh & Ms. Zoya Shabbir, who brainstormed this concept and infused life into it. They are the minds behind this website and have diligently curated it. I would also like to appreciate the Conveners of the Legal Research Committee, Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia for transforming this ambition into reality.
I am extremely honoured to be the Patron-in-Chief of the Jamia Student Law Review and I insist all the students to contribute to this wonderful platform and make it an immense learning experience.
Wish you all the very best!
