As a physical classroom in a has its own culture through interaction, the same must be established in the virtual classroom. When you walk down the halls of a school, you can get a pretty good sense of what the culture there is like. There are posters on the walls, school photos, display cases of achievements, school colours and mascots on the walls, many things that visually hint at what the school culture is all about. So why should an online school be any different?
We all know schools should be a welcoming and safe place, a home away from home and online schools can be this as well. Just think of kids who game online, they have a community of peers, similar interests, similar dialogue, and they support each other. I think if kids on a xbox playing Fortnite can do this own their own, then we should be able to as well.
