Gifted Student Service Plan
What is the purpose of this document?
A Gifted/Talented Student Service Plan (GSSP) is an educational plan that matches a formally identified gifted student's (grades 4‐12) interests, needs, and abilities with service options and serves as the communication between parents/ guardians and school personnel.
How often should we receive these?
At the beginning of the school year (by Labor Day).
Who fills these out?
The Gifted and Talented Resource Teacher creates the GSSP (in appropriate subject area) for any student identified. All involved parties sign the document as well to determine responsible parties to deliver service options.
Gifted Student Service Plan Goals:
Student will demonstrate achievement in the content(s) of identification.
Students will develop process skills including creative/critical thinking, research, and problem solving in the area(s) of identification.
Students will complete high level products/performances in the area(s).
Students will develop goal setting, self-directed learning, leadership, and decision-making skills in the area(s) of identification (affective skills).

Gifted Student Progress Report
What is the purpose of this document?
A Progress Report is a legal document required by GT Regulation that gives teachers a chance to let parents know how gifted students are progressing toward meeting their GT goals identified on their Gifted Student Service Plan.
How often should I receive these?
These are sent home twice a year. You will receive one of these twice a year (with 2nd and 4th report cards).
Who fills these out?
Teachers that services student complete the Progress Report (in appropriate subject area) for any student identified.
*Notice the score of 3 is “Exceeds Expectations”. This is referring to exceeding gifted expectations. A score of a three will be for students who stand out even among the GT group.
What is being reported?
The Progress Reports monitors the goals that were set with the Gifted Student Service Plan that was sent home at the beginning of the year.
Goals:
Student will demonstrate achievement in the content(s) of identification.
Students will develop process skills including creative/critical thinking, research, and problem solving in the area(s) of identification.
Students will complete high level products/performances in the area(s).
Students will develop goal setting, self-directed learning, leadership, and decision-making skills in the area(s) of identification (affective skills).
