I love seeing our students succeed...especially those who thought they couldn't do it. Everybody loves a "come-back" story, and I get to watch those unfold every day.

You CAN do this! A lot of people think they can't learn the math because they've been out of school too long or because they didn't understand it when they were in high school. You'll get personal attention here, and our instructors are great, patient teachers. Also,as I've gotten older, I've found that if I'm learning something because I "want to", it comes a lot easier than it did when I was being forced to learn it as a high school kid.
Math....and yet I ended up teaching it for years as a GED instructor before I became the director of this program! I think when a subject didn't come easy for you, you can sometimes explain it better than people who had no trouble with it at all. I could relate to my students' anxiety about math, and tried to explain things in a real-world context whenever I could.
I was a folk dancer in college, and there's footage somewhere on YouTube to prove it.
I am the youngest of my grandparents' 46 grandchildren.
