Let's make the most of your future high school career by beginning your career path search, picking the appropriate high school classes, and planning to be involved in high school.
Self-Assessment / Knowing Yourself
There are many websites designed to help you explore career paths. O*Net can help you match your personality with potential careers.
Visit https://www.mynextmove.org/ to start your search. This search can introduce you to careers which match your interest and give you options based upon the amount of school or training you will need after you graduate from high school.
Decision Making
Picking classes for high school is based on a couple of things:
1. Your future career plans, and
2. Your test scores/teacher recommendations from middle school.
Remember that students have their own path and your path may not look like your peers' paths.
Check out the video above for some great advice about how to manage your time and energy during your freshman year at JCHS.
Being involved in activities, clubs, and sports is an important part of the high school experience. Click the menu and find the JCHS Activities link to view a list of all of the activities for JCHS students.
