How will I receive communication from the school?

Will there be back to school meetings/assemblies for parents/students?

All back to school meetings will be virtual this year and the dates will be announced soon.

How may I contact my student(s) teachers?

Parents may email teachers through the SISK12 portal https://sdm.sisk12.com/JN360x3/login or JSH Teacher contact list Email teachers directly about class assignments and/or issues. If needed, consult a guidance counselor about an issue. If the issue persists, contact an administrator for support.

How may I check on my student(s) progress?

Grades can be checked regularly through the SISK12 portal. https://sdm.sisk12.com/JN360x3/login.Our report card is online. Please email the Registrar, Laura Fowler, Fowlerl@jenningsk12.org with any new or updated email addresses. The email should state both the parent and student(s) names.

Will students be issued a Chromebook for school this year?

Each student will have a Chromebook checked out to them as the district is moving 1:1 with technology. If there is an issue with a device or other student technology, email Mr. Capuano, assistant principal, for assistance Capuanoj@jenningsk12.org

How and when do I go about communicating with my student(s) teachers?

Contact teachers directly about class assignments and class issues.Please give teachers the following day to respond. If needed, consult a guidance counselor about an issue. If the issue persists, contact an administrator for support.

What if my student experiences issues with technology from a district issued device?

My student takes college courses off campus, how will he/she access those course(s)?

Students who are taking dual enrollment courses off campus at St. Louis Community will complete course requires from those instructors. The JSH counseling department will help students get signed up. Please stress to your child to stay in contact with his/her professor.

My student receives special services. How will he/she be supported with virtual learning?

Special education staff will be supporting Jennings School District plans for virtual learning. Your child’s case manager/special education teacher should be contacting you weekly during the closure to provide information about how you can support your child in doing the work, and to support your child in completing the work using learning strategies or approaches they already use in school. My student takes dual credit courses with a high school instructor?

Students who are taking dual credit courses will continue working online with their high school instructor(s). Teachers will give assignments through Google Classroom or other online education resources.
