Student Handbook
Middle School Students were given a Student Handbook today (Wednesday, 8/14/24).
They were instructed to give it to their parent/guardian. They were also instructed to tell their parent/guardian 3 things that they learned from the class meeting.

Poppin Popcorn - School-Wide Fundraiser for the PTSA
All students on Monday will receive an order form for Poppin Popcorn.
This is a school-wide fundraiser for the PTSA.

485-RIDE Bus Hotline
The 485-RIDE Bus Hotline will close for the year after all buses are clear this evening, Wednesday, Aug. 14. Beginning Thursday, Aug. 15, families with questions about transportation should contact The Phoenix, bus compound, or the Transportation Department at (502) 485-3470.

Start-Of-School Year Forms
To save paper and time, The Phoenix has created digital forms for the typical start-of-school year required documents.
If you complete the forms online, we will not give a paper version to your student on Friday, 8/30/23.
If you have more than one student at The Phoenix, complete a form for each student.
Parent Bus Tracker - Edulog
Same application as last year. If you used it last year, even if your student was at a different school, it will work.
Download the app from the app store – "Edulog Parent Portal Lite" or use the QR code to left.
Step 1: After installed, on the phone app, go to second tab, ‘Districts’.
Type this code - District Code is 98295545
Step 2 - Go to second tab, ‘Districts’ - click on white bar at top - "Jefferson County Schools"
Step 3: Search for your student's buses and press toggle to blue.
Step 4: Selected buses all show at bottom scroll of 3rd tab, ‘My Buses’.

Physicals and Vaccinations
AVAILABLE NOW | JCPS Health & Wellness is pleased to announce that free physicals and vaccines are available for students and new employees (excluding school bus drivers).
Students can receive these services if they meet any of the following criteria:
Do not have health insurance
Do not have a health care provider
Have state health insurance but cannot get to the location they are assigned to visit or cannot get vaccinations at their health care provider's office
To ensure vaccine availability, appointments must be scheduled. Please call the JCPS Health & Wellness office at 502-485-3387 to arrange a visit. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to ensure your health and wellness.

Middle & High School -
Social Security Numbers (SSN)
This is critical for all students.
Did you know that thousands of students don't receive free scholarship monies, often because they are just missing their Social Security Number.
Over 54% of JCPS students do not have a social security number listed in Infinite Campus. Without a linked SSN, students cannot earn KEES money.
All students are required to have a copy of their Social Security card as part of their official school records. Please bring a copy of your child's Social Security card to The Phoenix or contact Calli Hagan for other methods. 502-485-7700.
Attendance is a BIG DEAL
The minimum attendance percentage is 80% (unexcused absences only).
If your student drops below this number prior to January 1st, your student will be put on probation and may be exited by the end of the year.
Weapon Detection System
They have been installed in all JCPS High Schools.
This will make our school safer and that is our priority.
All students, staff and parents/guardians that are entering the building will have to walk through the system.
There will be one located in the front and one in the back of the building.
This includes parents/guardians that enter the building at any point during the school day.
We will be practicing with the students to insure they understand the process.
