Here are a few new items and last minute reminders before the summer hits!
The curriculum will only be housed on the website. The Google Doc will no longer have links.

Planning for the Year/Unit
We have a new page for helping plan a year and a unit. This template will help budget days throughout the year. Please reach out if you'd like to work with us on building a year and unit!
Curriculum Frameworks Online ONly
We will NO LONGER be using the Google docs for linking lessons. All lessons will be linked on the website only. Each compelling question has a drop down for supporting questions that are hyperlinked to the lessons.

We are looking for Social Studies leaders in the district to help refine, expand, and inform the JCPS Social Studies Curriculum. Join the leadership team today!
We are looking for three to four Social Studies teacher leaders for the following grades: K-4, 5, 6, 7, 8, U.S., World, Civics
Leadership Responsibilities will include:
* Reviewing inquiry lessons for source and standard alignment
* Adding sources
* Creation of new compelling and supporting questions
* Support in addressing questions or calls for review of inquiry lessons or sources
Curriculum questions or Concerns?
Submit Questions Or Concerns to JCPS Curriculum Team
Submit a request for review, suggestions for additions, or corrections to the inquiry lessons in the JCPS Social Studies Curriculum Frameworks. This form will be located within each unit.
Submissions may include:
* Recommendations for new sources
* Review of source within an inquiry
* Review of compelling and supporting questions
* Review of standards aligned with inquiry
* Other
Summer PD Opportunities
Inquiry Bootcamp
July 18, 19, 20th 9am - 1pm Location TBD
Join JCPS Social Studies for a three day Inquiry Bootcamp. With learning opportunities for all grade bands and all levels of inquiry implementation, learn how to design lessons, make curricular choices about sources, and how to develop the priority inquiry skills standards with students. Get a jump start on the new year with planning for inquiry!
PD Credit & District Stipend will be available- Hours TBD/Max 12
Inquiry Open Lab
July 25 & 26th 9 am - 4 pm Fairdale High School
Bring your PLC or department together to align and build! Open lab with space to collaborate for planning for next year. Social Studies support will be on hand to answer questions or just be a thought partner.
