This platform was created to help educators understand one of the many branches of Techquity: Opportunity In The Classroom.
One positive thing that came from the Global Pandemic of 2020 is that many school districts across the country are now 1:1 (each student is assigned a device) or have at least increased their inventory of student devices. In this session(s), you will learn ways to effectively provide opportunities for students to respond to their learning experiences in your classroom by creating digital learning artifacts with their student devices.
These lessons are meant to provide opportunities for educators to build background knowledge, see examples of ways to effectively implement technology in the classroom, and to give educators a chance to practice using technology tools they will soon teach their students to use as another way of responding to their learning experiences in class.
The use of the digital tools shared with you can be used in ANY subject. Enjoy and happy creating!
We would love to come facilitate sessions on Afrocentric Diversity & Techquity at your school. In these sessions, participants will learn ways to embed digital creation and collaboration among students in the classroom when they are asked to show what they have learned and experienced in lessons. They will learn how to coach students to utilize apps in the Google Workspace such as Google Drawings, Google Slides, and Google Docs to create and respond to their learning.
