Purpose: To recognize an outstanding collaboration between a school or community organization (PTO, PTA, PTSA, public library, rotary club, etc.) and a school library media specialist, which advances the role of the school library media center in the educational program of the school.
Eligibility: Applications will be considered for collaborative endeavors carried out during the current school year.
Award: Librarian and organization will be recognized at the JCASL Spring Program.
Guidelines:
1. The librarian nominated for this award MUST be a current member of the Jefferson County Association of School Librarians.
2. Nomination MUST be accompanied by a detailed letter describing the collaboration and its impact on the role of the school library media center in the educational program of the school.

Purpose: To recognize the school media librarian who has made outstanding contributions to the profession on local, district and state levels.
Eligibility: Any Kentucky school media librarian or school may submit the name of a library media specialist who meets the qualifications listed and is also a member of JCASL.
Award: Plaque and recognition at the JCASL Spring Program.
Guidelines:
1. Bachelors degree and at least 18 hours credit of Library Science
2. At least 5 years of school library service
3. Active member of JCASL and KASL/KLA
4. Has given his or her time and effort for the advancement of school libraries in Kentucky on both local and state levels
5. Active in community life
6. Personality that commands respect from other librarians, school personnel and the public.
7. Application has at least 1-3 letters of support.
8. The nomination form and letters of support must be submitted by Feb. 15.
9. The person nominated must not have won this award in the past 3 years. If you are unsure, please contact the JCASL Awards Chairperson.

Purpose: To recognize and honor the administrators who have made worthy contribution to
the operation of effective school library media services and to stimulate planning, implementing,
and support of the library services in the school.
Eligibility: Applicants must be a local school administrator, such as a principal, head
teacher, or assistant principal.
Award: Recognition and certificate at the annual JCASL Spring Dinner.
Application: Completed nomination form by a JCASL member with three letters of support which state the nominee’s outstanding and sustained contribution toward furthering the role of the library and the librarian in the development of effective school library media programs.

Purpose: This award is given to an individual who has given continuous, sustained support to the school library profession throughout his/her lifetime.
Eligibility: Nominees should have served in the school library profession for at least 10 years.

Purpose: To recognize and honor the library clerks who have made worthy contributions to the operation of effective school library media services and supports the library services in the school.
Eligibility: Applicants must be currently employed as a school library clerk in Jefferson County.
