Hi! I'm Mrs. Parson!  This is my 21st year of teaching and my 20th year here at Swanson.  My favorite thing about Swanson is the community. I enjoy getting to know my students and their families.  I love the connections that I am able to make that last a lifetime.

I’m an Arvada native and the roots are deep.  I went to Fitzmorris Elementary, Arvada Middle School, and Arvada West High School. My husband, Jason, and I are enjoying raising our “spicy” girl Alexis who loves competitive swimming and is starting fourth grade here at Swanson.  She fills our days with lots of smiles and non-stop laughter. I am an avid reader and gardener. As a family we enjoy camping, completing puzzles, going to Rockies games, and we never miss a Mammoth (indoor lacrosse) game.  We also have a dog named Jameson who thinks he owns the world.

My classroom is an active place where exploring and learning about ourselves is just as important as the content we are learning.  I come to work each day looking forward to the moments when new things begin to "click" for my students. I am a lifelong learner myself and value being able to pass along the love of learning to all of my students.

Hi! I’m Ms. Ashcraft! 

This is my first official year at Swanson after student teaching here for a year with Mrs. Parson and my fourth year in Jeffco. Swanson is such a special school and I am so lucky and overjoyed to continue my career here. The community and connections made here are truly one of a kind!

While I am not a Colorado native, I’ve lived in Colorado for about 12 years now, having moved here from Wichita, Kansas and was a student in the Arvada articulation area. When I’m not at school I love to spend time with family and my German Shepherd puppy, Sloane.  I love to read and buy more books than I have time to read. I grew up playing sports like volleyball and softball, but I also love to get crafty and crochet and I love to bake too!

In my classroom we will learn lots and have so much fun while we are at it. As a teacher seeing each student grow and challenge themselves throughout the year is so rewarding and my favorite part of the job. I look forward to each day I come to work and seeing what new adventure we are setting out on for the day.
