Grading

Assessments 70% (30% District Tests and 40% Projects, Quizzes and Exit Tickets): A District Test will be given at the end of each unit. Projects, quizzes and exit tickets will be given periodically throughout the unit and it will be announced which assignments will be counted under this category.

Work Habits/TRACKS 30% (Homework and Warm Ups):

Homework will be given about two to three times a week and due the following day, unless otherwise notified. You will be graded on both completion as well as accuracy. Completed homework should include a clear justification for how each answer was found. This can be done by showing work or giving an explanation in writing. In addition, some homework will be completed online. All homework will be posted on the calendar as well as under the homework tab.

Warm Ups will be completed daily at the start of class, and be worth one point a day. Absences will be excused and do not have to be made up.

Extra Help

If you are feeling uncomfortable about a topic, please let me know right away so that we can work together to help you better understand the material. An in-person conversation and/or email are excellent ways to communicate with me about any questions or concerns you might have. Please plan to stay after school on Tuesday or Thursday until 3 pm if you would like to work on homework, classwork or review any topics. Having access to the online Big Ideas Textbook and Khan Academy will also be extremely beneficial in reviewing topics covered in class as well as basic math concepts.
