Reading/Phonics
We immerse ourselves in a world of stories, reading and listening to books throughout the day. We strengthen our phonics skills with Heggerty Phonics and practice our writing daily. Read-alouds are a cornerstone of our classroom, especially for our youngest learners.
Math
We believe that math is fun and practical! Through hands-on activities like sorting, counting, and building, we make math learning engaging and meaningful for our little learners.
Fine Motor Skills
We believe that fine motor skills are an important part of a child's overall development. We incorporate a variety of activities into our daily routine, such as cutting, writing, and playing with small objects, to help children build these essential skills.
Social Emotional Skills with Second Step Curriculum
Second Step equips students with the social-emotional tools they need to thrive. Through fun and interactive lessons, students learn how to build positive relationships, manage their emotions, and achieve their goals.
Assessment
Our comprehensive assessment approach involves the use of TS GOLD for formal benchmarking three times annually, complemented by ongoing informal observations across multiple domains, including social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, mathematics, and science & technology skills, and Formal testing through our flex days three times a year.
