Hydrosphere students will be aquatic ecologists by documenting seasonal changes in the Rolling Creek Watershed. Students will measure stream and lake levels along with documenting seasonal changes in the willows. Thank you Oberon for being the first students to contribute to the data set! Way to be stewards!
There is a gap in knowledge of ephemeral streams. Scientists seek to answer the following questions: When do they flow? When do they stop flowing? How much do they flow? When do they peak? To fill this knowledge gap, we are contributing to the Stream Tracker citizen science project.
Students who participate in All Day Hikes at Windy Peak we will take photos and measurements on North Rolling Creek above the Freeman Creek diversion. Thank you Carmody MS for being the first to contribute! We can't wait to gather enough information to explore trends in our local stream.
Here is our data. You may have to search for Outdoor Lab - Windy Peak to view our specific data. You can do this under the "View Data" tab or for trends search under the "Analysis" tab.
High Potential Week participants study aquatic invertebrates during their week at Outdoor Lab. Here is the information collected in the past. We are continuing these samples in the future!
