Each year, the Boettcher Scholarship chooses approximately 50 high school seniors from Colorado and awards them total tuition and fees at any in-state college or university. The scholarship is extremely competitive and the award is given based on a student's superior scholastic ability and intellectual curiosity, evidence of potential leadership, service to community and school, and outstanding character. We are proud to announce that Brendan Church has received this prestigious scholarship! He has been involved in numerous activities both at RVHS and outside of school, including Student Government, National Honor Society, Colorado Youth Congress, Sunrise Movement, basketball, track, golf, and he has served as an intern with Colorado State Representative Brianna Titone. Brendan is currently deciding between attending Colorado College, where he would run track, or the University of Colorado - Boulder, where he has been accepted to the Presidents Leadership Class. Congratulation Brendan! We are so incredibly proud of you!

We would appreciate your financial support to help make this event possible. You can make a secure donation through www.zellepay.com the email for our account is rvptsa@gmail.com or https://rvptsa.digitalpto.com click on “Join PTSA” & that will open the link for donating to After Prom.

Thank you to our over 1,300 students that showed up this week to take part in SAT, PSAT-10, and PSAT-9 Tests. Our students put their best foot forward. Student performance on exams like these helps our schoolwide planning for intervention and enrichment from year to year. This happens at both the macro and micro levels. These scores also help students earn scholarships and college admission. They also serve as one of many data points that support the hard work and dedication for learning among our students and teachers. Thank you for your support!

As the warmer weather approaches, we would like to take this opportunity to remind our community of our school dress code. Ralston Valley places a tremendous emphasis on academics, and we feel it is critical to keep a learning environment that promotes safety and professionalism. We feel that dress is a form of self-expression, and know that different environments are appropriate for different types of dress. Please remind your student to keep their attire professional while at school by following our school dress code. For specific details or questions, you can visit our school handbook, contact our Dean, Mrs. Nigut, or speak to your student's grade level administrator.

We are so excited to announce two new coaches that will be joining the Ralston Valley community next year. The first is our new Ice Hockey coach Nick Spinder. An Arvada Native and 2012 graduate of Ralston Valley High School, Nick Spinder has coached the junior varsity hockey squad the past three seasons. His connection to Arvada hockey and the Ralston Valley program are invaluable pieces that will ensure the Mustangs are successful for years to come. "Becoming the 4th head coach in program history is a dream come true and I look forward to playing my part in Ralston Valley’s continued success." Nick's knowledge not only of hockey, but of physical fitness and training, will push our student-athletes to excel to the next level both on and off the ice.
Additionally, Amy Bahl has been selected as our new girls basketball coach. Coach Bahl comes to RV with six seasons of head coach experience at Evergreen HS during which time she was honored with three 4A Coach of the Year award. Bahl graduated from Fort Lewis College where she played all four seasons. She was also named Jeffco 4A Girls Coach of the Year in 2014, 2016 and 2018. After the 2018 season, Bahl stepped away from coaching high school basketball to spend more time with her family. She is excited to be returning to the court to lead our student-athletes moving forward.
We are currently in the process of selecting a new head football coach. Matt Loyd, RV's only football coach in school history, will be retiring from Jeffco at the end of the school year. Prior to our first round of interviews for our new head coach, we are hosting a 'Meet the Candidate Night' for our student-athletes, families, and assistant football coaches on April 21st. Prospective candidates will have a prepared presentation for each stakeholder group that will be facilitated by school administration. It will not be a question and answer session for the coaches. Please come prepared to listen to what the individuals have to share. Our evening will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. and last under two hours. There is no need to RSVP for the event, but plan to arrive before 5:00 p.m. on April 21st.
