This is a list of suggested art supplies for this 2020/21 school year. Please feel free to shop around to find better prices elsewhere!
1) Basic Watercolor Set - must have the primary colors: Red, Yellow and Blue. Any other additional colors are great! Here's a good set of watercolors from dickblick.com.
2) Watercolor Paper - 90lbs or heavier is prefered. The quality of watercolor paper greatly influences the outcome of the watercolor painting. The bumps act as little 'cups' that hold the watercolor pigment. The thicker (or heavier weight of the paper) helps to keep the paper from curling as the watercolor paint dries. Here's a good middle of the road watercolor paper. You can also tape the watercolor paper down to a large piece of cardboard or to a table.
3) Acrylic Paint - primary colors (red, yellow and blue), plus white and black. There are many different brands! Here's a good set of student acrylic paint.
4) Paper for Acrylic Painting - Acrylics can be applied to most types of paper. Similar to watercolor paper, the thicker the paper (or canvas) typically, the better the result. I've used card stock (65lbs), canvas paper, canvas boards, stretched canvas, wood, matboard, etc! This is totally up to you!
5) Air Dry Clay - Air Dry Clay is a great alternative to working with whiteware clay. Kids can even paint their dried clay pieces with watercolor or acrylic paint!
6) Tacky Glue - this is a good investment if you purchase air dry clay (or plan to glue more than construction paper).
7) Sidewalk Chalk - big pieces or little pieces! I'd love to create interactive 'public' artwork with you!
