Care and Repair

Avoiding Expensive Repairs

  • Don't leave your Chromebook in vehicles or extremely hot/cold environments for extended periods of time.

*Excessive hot/cold temperatures are hard on all computers and Chromebooks are no exception. Leaving your Chromebook in a car during sports/after school activities or overnight can expose your Chromebook to extreme hot or cold temperatures, which will damage the motherboard.

  • Always keep your Chromebook in the protective case.

  • Remove all objects (papers/pencils) before closing the lid.

*Pens/pencils/items left on keyboards when a lid is closed cause more screen damage than anything else.

  • Never hold the Chromebook by the screen.

  • Never set anything heavy on the lid.

  • Keep water and other liquids away from your Chromebook.

Battery Life and System Updates

  • Avoid letting your battery get below a 5% charge.

  • Make sure your device is fully charged at the beginning of each day.

  • Shutdown and restart your device weekly to load updates.
