Tryouts take place each spring for the upcoming school year. Dates and details are announced on our website and social channels in advance — so check back often and be ready to bring your Tiger spirit!
Tryouts are open to all females and males who will be freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors during the 2025-2026 school year. Tryouts are for Varsity and JV. Yes, we are a “cut sport” which means that everyone may not make one of the squads.
Yes! We encourage incoming 9th graders to try out and bring their enthusiasm. Leadership opportunities exist for all levels.
Yes. Summer is when we bond, train, and prepare for the year ahead. All squads participate in local summer "Boot Camp" practices to learn all of the cheers, sideline dances, and work on stunting. While these practices cannot be made mandatory; however, this is when we learn the majority of our cheers and sideline dances. Squad Members who miss these practices are responsible for learning the material that they miss.
Varsity Members may attend the UCA Overnight Camp at at Colorado State University, instructed by Universal Cheerleading Association, typically in June. This is required for anyone who wants to be considered as a member of the Competitive Team. For those who do not want to be considered as a member of the Competitive Team this camp is optional but is a valuable experience and important squad bonding time.
Yes! Our program is committed to making Cheer and Poms accessible to everyone. We offer fundraising opportunities and payment plans to make participation accessible to all students.
Yes. We encourage multi-sport participation and celebrate well-rounded athletes. We have multi-talented students! Cheer/ Poms members are also involved in other school activities (band, theater, student senate, etc.) Communication is key — coaches work with you to balance schedules whenever possible. We just ask that dual-sport athletes choose a primary sport and maintain open communication between coaches to balance schedules and responsibilities — with academics always coming first.
