Varsity team practice for Fall break is Thursday 10/19 from 10:00 am-11:30 am.
Team Dinner Monday 10/2/2023 after 5:30 pm.
Additional details have been communicated to gymnasts.
Families: Please plan on staying for about 15 minutes after the awards announcements on Wed. Sept. 27th for a special ceremony celebrating our seniors.
There is NO TEAM DINNER on Friday Sept. 22nd as originally scheduled. We are looking to reschedule for another day.
Leadership Meeting 6:15-6:30 pm on Thursday 9/21. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors invited & encouraged to participate.
Practice on Monday 9/18 will end at 6:00 pm due to the meet on Tuesday.
Picture day is Tuesday Sept. 12th from 3:45-4:15 in the aux gym. Gymnasts, be ready to go at 3:45 pm sharp with your competition leotard on. We will have normal practice from 4:15-6:15 pm after pictures.
Upperclassmen leadership meeting: Wednesday Sept. 6 a 8:10 am in B216. This week's topic: Planning for homecoming.
GYM Set-up is finally here! We get to move into the aux gym at 4:45 pm on Friday Sept. 1st. The volleyball team will be helping us at 4:45 pm and gymnasts will finish the set-up. Parent help is probably not needed since the volleyball team will be helping.
Practice on Thursday 8/31 will be at Lakewood HS. There will be no Golden option. Practice will be from 3:50-6:15 pm on Thursday.
Gymnasts are excused from class at 2:45 pm on Tuesday 8/29 in advance of the meet. Gymnasts not traveling to the meet will not be excused.
Warm-ups start at 4:30 pm SHARP at Pomona. Plan to arrive by 4:20 pm. Rotation order is bars, floor, vault, beam.
THE GYM WILL BE HOT! Spectators should dress accordingly.
TEAM DINNER!
Friday August 25th in the East Atrium at Lakewood directly after practice. 6:00-7:30 ish.
Dinner will be catered and we will be making shirts!
Parent/Guardian Meeting Monday August 14th at 6:30 pm in the Lecture Center at Lakewood High Schoool.
Registration
All gymnasts MUST be registered via the LHS Athletics website by Friday August 4th in order to participate in our first day of official practice on August 7th. A sports physical is a required part of registration. The fee for participating in any sport in JeffCo is $185.

I highly recommended that you complete your registration before the end of July. There is often a day or two of a processing delay.
Practice Schedule
Practice OFFICIALLY begins on Monday August 7th!
Starting August 7th our practice schedule is:
Mondays: 3:50-6:15 pm @ LHS
Tuesdays: 3:50-6:15 pm @ LHS
Wednesdays (optional practice)- 3:50 pm -5:30 pm @ LHS
Thursdays- 3:50-6:15 pm @ LHS
Fridays- 3:50-6:00 pm @ LHS
Wednesday optional practices are an opportunity for gymnasts to do what they need to take care of themselves. Gymnasts are encouraged to attend Wednesday practices if their bodies, minds, and schoolwork load allows it. If needed, gymnasts can use Wednesdays to catch up on schoolwork, take a mental health day, etc. Wednesdays are an great opportunity for gymnasts to work on specific skills and direct their own practices.
Fall 2023 Pre-Season Gymnastics Camp
Pre-season Camp is an opportunity to condition, start working on new skills, and bond as a team! Camp is optional but highly recommended!
When: July 31-Augst 4th, 2023
Monday July 31st- 3:00-5:00 pm
Tuesday August 1st- 3:00-5:00 pm
Wednesday August 2nd- 3:00-5:00 pm
Thursday August 3rd- 3:00-5:00 pm
Friday August 4th- 10:00 am- 12:00 pm.
We will start promptly at 3:00 pm. Please arrive early and be ready to go at 3:00 pm. On Monday July 31st please arrive at 2:45 pm so check-in and paperwork is completed before 3:00 pm.
Where: The wrestling gym at Lakewood High School.
Cost: $65 cash or check made out to Lakewood Gymnastics. Bring on day 1. The fee will cover the cost of team t-shirt and payment for coaches.
What to bring: Filled out summer camp insurance waivers (Summer2023waiver). Water bottle, leotard, & hair secured. (If you do not have a leotard a tight-fitting shirt and shorts is okay but leotards are best.
*If you already participated in the summer conditioning you have already submitted your waivers. yay!
All gymnasts: Fill out this Fall 2023 Camp Availability Form to let the coaches know which days you will be at camp. Please fill out even if you can't attend camp.
If your gymnast needs help with transportation, please email Coach Kamin and we will try to find help.

Summer Conditioning starts on Friday June 16th!
All gymnasts (returning and new/incoming) are invited to join for conditioning from 10:00-11:30 am on Fridays. We also have a Red Rocks Solstice Workout + a Trail Run planned on a Monday/Wednesday.
Conditioning workouts are OPTIONAL but are a great way to get prepared for the seaon and get to know the team.
What to bring to conditioning workouts:
Tennis shoes
Water bottle
You can wear shorts & a t-shirt/tank top. No leotard necessary.
Signed waivers
The two waivers are linked here (Summer2023waiver). JeffCo Schools does not provide insurance coverage for pre-season activities. Please give the waiver to the coach that is at the workout. You can also email your signed waivers in advance to christine.kamin@jeffco.k12.co.us.
Incoming Gymnast Info and Q & A on Thursday May 18th at 5:30 pm.
Open to all incoming gymnasts & families. The meeting will be held in Classroom B216 at Lakewood High School. (It's the second floor east side of the building).
At the meeting you will be able to meet other incoming gymnasts and families, learn about summer conditioning opportunities, and learn about the structure and expectations of the Fall 2023 gymnastics season. You will be able to ask any questions you have from current gymnasts and coaches.
The meeting will last about 30-45 minutes with time for questions!

Gym Set Up
Gym set up will be Sunday July 31st @ 10:00 am! ALL gymnasts and families are invited/encouraged to help. If you are in town, please prioritize helping. Many hands means light work! Wear tennis shoes and it is usually helpful to bring some gloves for carrying floor boards.
The school is refinishing the main gym floor so we will meet in the aux gym entering through the hallway near the aux gym. The aux gym is located on the southeast side of the building. If you walk from the parking lots to the south side of the building you will find it.

What you need to do to for your gymnast to attend camp:
Sign the THREE waiver forms Jeffco forms (two) & Golden Gymnastics (one). Bring them to your first day of camp.
Bring a check for $60 made out to 'Lakewood Gymnastics' to camp on Monday August 2nd.
Fill out this GOOGLE FORM to let the coaches know which days you will be at camp.
Some Frequently Asked Questions about camp:
Is camp optional? Yes. Camp is optional. It is highly encouraged so the girls can get to know their teammates, condition their bodies, learn new skills, and have fun.
What if I can't attend camp all five days. That is okay! Just fill out the google form above with your expected attendance.
Is there financial assistance? Yes. Please email Coach Kamin.
What should we wear to camp? Ideally a leotard with your hair up in a ponytail. If you do not own a leotard, that is okay. Wear tight fitting shorts and a shirt. T-shirts are not ideal because they are loose. A tank top is better. We will work with whatever you have.
Pre-season workouts
Open to all gymnasts interested in joining the team this fall! Meet at 10:00 am under the big tree on the North side of campus across North of student parking lot). Bring a water bottle and beach towel. Wear tennis shoes and general workout clothes. We will be doing gymnastics related full-body conditioning but will not be doing any actual gymnastics.
