This year the Affective Needs (AN) Center Program students will be focusing on the "Brainwise" Curriculum as well as "Growth Mindset" skills to help our students regulate behaviors through identifying feelings and emotions.
Glennon Heights Elementary is a "Leader in Me" School, so all students will be focusing on "Leader in Me" skills as well. We will be using the 8 Habits throughout the School Year. Each month we will have our School focus on one of these habits specifically. The 8 Habits are:
Habit 1: Be Proactive (August/September)
Habit 2: Begin With the End In mind (October)
Habit 3: Put First Things First (November)
Habit 4: Think Win-Win (December/January)
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood (February)
Habit 6: Synergize (March)
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw (April)
Habit 8: Find Your Voice and Inspire Others To Find Theirs (May)
If you are able to reinforce these 8 habits at home as well that would be great, so we are reinforcing these skills both at home and school.
If you need extra support with Social/Emotional skills for your child or need to discuss anything further with our AN School Psychologist please reach out to Pete Cope. His information is listed below:
