Important Announcements

Announcements for week of October 8th:

This past week we focused on Social Intelligence, with an emphasis on building relationships with students in different grades. It was amazing going into Ms. Crowley’s Kindergarten class and watching the 5th grade students of Mrs. Anderson’s class reading to their book buddies. This truly is building a caring community of all learners of all ages at Foothills. I am proud of you Falcons! This next week, we will focus on gratitude. Gratitude is being grateful for all the wonderful people and things in our lives. Ask your child what he/she is grateful for? Together, we are building a caring community here at Foothills. I am grateful for you!

Announcements for week of October 1st:

What a great week at Foothills! It was amazing seeing Mrs. Vasquez’s 1st Grade Class sing the Character Strengths Chant at Friday’s Morning Meeting accompanied by Ms. M’s 4th and 5th grade students playing the drums. We are working together to build a community of amazing world citizens. Great job Falcons!

This next week we will focus on social intelligence. We have done an amazing job of building a caring community in our classrooms and this week we will focus on creating a caring community within our school. Ask your student how he/she was a friend to a student in a different grade. Challenge your student to be a role model for younger students and talk about the importance of treating everyone with respect. It’s going to be a great week!

Being excited to try new things, being excited to learn new topics and being excited to be at school! Ask your student what his/her favorite subjects are in school and why. It’s going to be an amazing week!

Announcements for week of September 14th:

What an amazing week at Foothills. Walking into the classrooms, it is clear that every classroom has become a family. Students are taking care of each other and celebrating the successes of each other. I am amazed and inspired by the work of our students and staff members. I am proud to be a Falcon! This next week, we will focus on grit. Grit is never giving up, even when it is challenging. Talk with your student about their day and ask how they showed grit in the classroom. Remind your child that it is okay to make mistakes, making mistakes is proof that we are trying! Celebrate your child’s successes!

Also, a huge shout out to our student ambassadors for showing zest during our Morning Meeting on Friday. They were true examples of the great work we are doing at Foothills and I am very proud of these ambassadors, way to go!!

Announcements for the week of September 3rd:

The students at Foothills have been working hard on their self-control and social intelligence. It has been amazing seeing the friendships created in the classrooms and out on the playground. We are truly becoming a FAMILY here at Foothills! This next week, we will be focusing on curiosity. Teachers have started to talk about innovative thinking in their classrooms. Students are encouraged to start thinking creatively and critically about what inspires them! Please talk with your child about what they have learned in school? What are their passions? What would they like to be when they grow up? Encourage your child to think creatively at home, this could be in the form of writing short stories, or creating a city out of legos! We know that thinking comes in many different ways and it is important to encourage our learners to never stop learning. Together, we can light the passion for learning in all our students and help them see that any dream can be a possibility!
