Meet Your Teacher

Hi I'm Mrs. McKay, and I teach 6th and 7th grade Science at Bradford! 

I am a certified athletic trainer and have a MS degree from Cal State Long Beach in Kinesiology. I was a collegiate swimmer at Simpson College, where I attained a degree in athletic training and history. I attained my teacher license through Metro State. 

Previously I worked as a high school athletic trainer and a 6th grade teacher at Kendallvue Elementary.  I also taught PE/Health for 5  years at Carmody Middle School prior to working at Bradford. 

While I am a native of Iowa, GO HAWKEYES, I live in Jeffco and have two kids, both at Bradford.  I also have two dogs, Linus, 7 month old cavachon, and Higgins, a hyperactive border collie/lab mix puppy.  

 I love being active and focusing on ways I can be healthy in all aspects of my life. I enjoy hiking, swimming, working out, biking, taking walks, watching the Hawkeyes and the Chiefs, hanging out with my puppy and family, as well as gardening!  Right now, I currently spend almost of my time outside of school at the various sports activities that my children participate in!
