Students may be in different sections for each trimester.

Twig Curriculum

Jeffco has adopted the Twig Curriculum and all middle schools across the district are aligned in this teaching and learning.
- Student will embark on an exciting journey to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge. Along the way, they’ll answer many of the “why” questions they may have about how their world works.
Twig Science is built around the National Research Council’s Framework and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The Colorado Academic Standards align as well with NGSS to ensure students get what they need. The NGSS standards focus on three dimensions (three dimensional learning): disciplinary core ideas, science and engineering practices, and crosscutting concepts.
Students use these three dimensions in their day-to-day learning with Twig Science to make sense of phenomena, as well as using engineering design to devise solutions to problems.

Late Work Guidelines

6th Grade Science Late Work Submission Form
- Use this link (also located in Google Classroom Resources) to let me know once late work is completed.
- Please complete a new submission for EVERY late assignment.
- You will not have a late work penalty for the assignment.
- I will not accept late work, however, after the Unit ends.
- I also only accept pre-assessments through the end of the week (as it is meant to see where you are at before starting the unit. I grade these as completion only. They are worth 10 pts in the work habits category).
