Equity: All schools provide equitable devices and programming for their students
Device Consistency: Reduces time spent on device management and troubleshooting issues in the classroom; devices can be used at any school within the district
Connectivity: All devices will automatically connect to the instructional WiFi
Added Security: A security filter will be installed on all devices for use at school and home
Testing: Students will take state-mandated tests on their own devices
Convenience: Loaner devices will be available through the library during repairs
Classroom management
One of the biggest concerns for parents and teachers is ensuring the safety of students online and making sure students are actively engaged in class. Chromebooks that are rented through the school will have software that allows teachers to monitor all student screens, turn all screens off in order to minimize distractions, and project student work to the front of the room. Yearly rental fee of $50
Device will be managed by Jeffco for added security
WiFi automatically connects to the fastest network (Internal vs Instructional)
Educational apps will be pushed out to all student devices
Students can take state-mandated tests on their device
Students will keep the device over school breaks and summers, making learning a year-round activity
Equity and consistency for all teachers and students
Schools receive digital learning tools, teacher professional development to instruct with those tools, Internet filtering, bandwidth, and additional support
