Brady Utilizes Independent Learning Directives.
Please see our What is BUILD? page for this information.
BUILD gives students interview skills, job readiness skills, industry specific skills, and technology training. Interns also earn a .5 English credit and a .75 elective credit, and have the option to propose additional credits relevant to their internship.
The BUILD program helps our community thrive, giving job skills to graduating students and facilitating economic growth in our community. Some industries our students intern in are also in need of skilled employees. BUILD provides an opportunity for employers to train future professionals. Regardless, BUILD gives employers free help for your business!
No. Students are still going to Brady full-time and fulfilling their responsibilities to their learning teams. BUILD is meant to facilitate their education, and give them academic credits for hands on work experience that will affect their careers beyond graduation.
A BUILD Intern is a student that goes through our standard internship program, including both boot camp and a 50 hour internship. A BUILD Apprentice is a "full time" apprentice who is out of the building more than they're in it, and working closely with staff on personalized academic schedules in order to accommodate their apprenticeship.
