Titles in bold will have an in-person tournament at the end of the semester. Teams must qualify for these tournaments by reaching certain rounds of the state tournament, where the final few rounds will be play in-person.
Participation in ESports will add a $35 student fee. This fee pays for ESports equipment, senior gifts, tournament participation, and school video game subscriptions so everyone compete from the building. If you have questions, please reach out to Mr. Villanueva @ michael.villanueva@jeffco.k12.co.us .
All rulebooks for these titles can be found in the Games & Rules page.
ESports teams competes in Best-of-5 matches featuring 3v3 crew-style play with a roster of up to six students. Matches follow competitive settings—3 stocks, 7-minute limits, and no items—requiring strategic stage striking and precise coordination through the PlayVS lobby. We play with schools across the state for a chance to compete at the state in-person tournament.
Our Mario Kart team competes in Best-of-3 matches consisting of 4-player teams with a full roster of 8 students. Matches are held in 150cc Team Mode across four races per set, where players must select "Random" for every track to ensure a fair and competitive rotation. We play with schools across the state for a chance to compete at the state in-person tournament.
Rocket League and Splatoon 3 will have a State Tournament in Fall of 2026, but may still compete regionally during the Spring semester to get competitive practice and prepare for next semester!
More information will be shared about this tournament through the Spring 2026 semester. Governor Jared Polis has made regular appearances at this event and has stopped to take photos with our school, and others, in the past. Many vendors come to this event to advertise and network, looking for prospective employees.
This has been an amazing event for students to attend in the past, and I hope to support all teams wishing to compete and get there this year!
